Ingredients:

  • 500 g mixed minced meat (beef and pork)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, pressed
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Helvetic Barbeque Salt-n-Pepper Rub
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • Fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the smoker and heat it to a temperature of 180°C. Use charcoal or logs to create the traditional smoky aroma.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the minced meat, finely chopped onion, crushed garlic, paprika powder, cumin, oregano, Helvetic Barbeque Salt-n-Pepper Rub, olive oil, breadcrumbs and egg.
  3. Add the finely chopped parsley and knead all the ingredients thoroughly until you have a homogeneous mixture.
  4. Form long cevapcici (approx. 8-10 cm long) from the minced meat mixture and place them on the grill.
  5. Place the rack with the cevapcici in the preheated smoker and let them cook for around 30-40 minutes. Make sure that they are turned regularly so that they cook evenly on all sides and develop a nice smoky crust.
  6. As soon as the cevapcici are golden brown and cooked through, remove them from the smoker and leave them to rest briefly.
  7. Serve the cevapcici on a platter with fresh flatbread, onion rings and a spicy ajvar sauce.
